The DWP have announced that the one-off, £150 cost of living payment will be paid to a range of disability benefit claimants from 20 September, with the “vast majority” getting paid by the beginning of October.

The £150 is being paid on top of other cost of living payments totalling £650, £400 for all households to help with energy bills, and an extra £150 for properties in Council Tax bands A-D in England.

Over eight million eligible households in receipt of one of a range of means-tested benefit received the first of two automatic cost of living payments of £326 from 14 July. The second means-tested payment of £324 will be issued later this year.

Claimants likely to be eligible for the £150 payment are those in receipt of:

  • Disability Living Allowance,
  • Personal Independence Payment,
  • Attendance Allowance,
  • Adult Disability Payment (Scotland),
  • Child Disability Payment (Scotland),
  • Armed Forces Independence Payment,
  • Constant Attendance Allowance,
  • War Pension Mobility Supplement.

Those who had confirmed payment of their disability benefit for 25 May are expected to be paid shortly after the payment window opens.

For those awaiting confirmation of their disability benefits on 25 May, or who are waiting to be assessed for eligibility to receive disability benefits, the process may take longer but payments will still be automatic.

Full details of eligibility for the £150 cost of living payment are on the .gov.uk website.

After seeing so many people asking if certain esa benefits recieve the disability payment , I would just like to recommend to people who have any award of esa , to request a copy of there assessment, this is how I eventually got to recieve dla/ pip based on there own assessment, so people request the copy and read through it , good luck

@dan In just over an hour then, we will see, banks do not clear money on Saturdays,  neither may I add that they do not pay direct debits from your account at weekends,  it's either the Friday before the weekend,  or the Monday, then again the dwp probably think tomorrow is Friday, ha, what a joke though all this,

Another thing that stinks, in the recorded message on the pip number the robot says , cost of living payment will be paid in the day today and tomorrow,  that was Mon Tues, then they say there's a delay, that's incompetent,  they put that message on, knowing full well no one was gonna get it this week, this time next Friday people are going to start fuming,

If the government cannot deliver a service to disabled,  Ill and vulnerable members of the UK society,  what good is it.

It's all of them though isn't it not just dwp, your doctors surgery, police,  fire, truss has been in two weeks,  yet, something that was announced four months ago, yes, four months, was on news yesterday "you will be seen by a gp within two weeks" that's been the case for a long time anyway, one of labour or back bench mps will say something about this in Mr Kwartengs mini budget later today,

The dwp haven't broken any law though,  they said by end of September which is a week today,

It's in the government bank account making interest so when they do pay it, they haven't really paid anything. Yet if us owed money for an overpayment they would want it straight away,

@Cassandra If you don't get pip, dla, attendance allowance then no I'm afraid. You'll get the 650 which you should have had first payment between 14th July and end of July if I'm correct.

Not one person' has received the new £150 cost of living payment for disabilities, as Department for Work and Pensions admit delays

"Not one person" on disability benefits has appeared to have received the £150 one-off cost of living payment, with thousands of people responding to a tweet from MoneySavingExpert.com founder Martin Lewis to say they have yet to receive the money.
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) had said people would start receiving payments from this Tuesday (20 September), but it has now told MSE that "operational issues" have led to delays in sending out the money.

DWP said the operational problems meant it has so far only been able to send out a limited number of payments, but a tweet sent by MSE founder Martin Lewis asking if people had received the money showed nearly 5,000 people haven't, with not one person we saw responding to say they had. A further 1,700 people on Facebook said the same thing.

A DWP spokesperson, however, has since assured MSE that everyone will be paid by the start of October.
