Hi Chris I was in the support group before this on ESA and my partner is in the support group too. We've both been unable to look or perform work for over a decade due to our mental health and disabilities and I was in the support group from at least 2012 so this is all very scary to me. I was told by citizens advice I wouldn't need fit notes and my status of support group should carry over to lcwra in our migration. This is not what's been happening.

Hi Blissfulblues
I expect Chris was not aware that you have been in the Support Group for the last 13 years and have been continuously in an ESA claim. I agree with citizens advice that you don't need a Fit Note and that you are still in the ESA Support Group and should be automatically placed in the UC LWRA group.

Thank you David. I don't know if you saw the information I posted from the P45 with the leaving date and the fit note. And asking if I should still self certify even though I sent the message you suggested I send. Should I still self certify? Just a bit concerned because of the language they use about not providing a fit note scared of the claim being ended.

Hi Blissfulblues
Are you still in contact with the Citizens Advice member who confirmed you don't need Fit Notes? Was it their Help to Claim phone service ?

I've gotten someone different every time I've phoned. It was their UC migration phone line. Are they wrong? Do I need to worry? Should I self certify? As I said I was support group income related and then they were joining our claim. And said they couldn't because partner was contribution based. He was in it wrongly he'd never worked. And we're cleared it up by then. He got back pay from the fact they had him on the wrong rate for years. And is income related as he should be. So we got help and they said it would need to be UC and a local service and advice from Gordon here helped us keep our ESA. Is there going to be a problem? Is it the P45? What should I do?

Hi David it was their phone line. I've spoken to several different people since starting the process. Do you think that I'm going to have an issue? I'm really really scared.
