Hi UB40,
Well I'm personally thinking about re-vamping my CV - Instead of all the usual BS, you know, the punctual, honest, reliable blah blah?........I think I'll make my professional summary about my health issues, mood swings, aches and pains I suffer, sick days I'm likely to take because of depression/low mood etc.....I'm sure it'll be every employers dream to read how much of a catch I'll be (NOT) - then at least if anything goes wrong....or should I say "When" - then I can't say that they weren't warned.
Regards, Chris.

Hi Christ
I thought exactly the same about my CV - any employer would just bin mine immediately!!
I was medically retired 5 years ago while desperately trying to stay in a job I loved of over 30 years, I spent around 70% of my last 2 years in the work sick room too fatigued & in pain to manage anything.
I wonder how many employers will queue up to take me on??
Perhaps a bed company zzzz
But joking aside, this Government doesn't care about the impact these proposals will have on people's mental health. They haven't learned from the past where many people attempted suicide and even took their own lives over losing their benefits.
In the same week that they set out these ridiculous proposals to hit the most vulnerable people, they also set out a 5 year plan for Suicide Prevention in England!!! (see link below)
www.gov.uk/government/publications/suici...ross-sector-strategy
Also of note, there are only 5 consultation dates and not even one in Northern Ireland.
I just hope that the news spreads widely on these proposals & all disabled people do everything they can to voice their opinion as loud as possible.
Good luck everyone on this long rocky road ahead!

Hi fibrofred,
It makes you sick, doesn't it ? To think that you've given that length of service, been dedicated, and stuck at it, through the thick and the thin (as we all have days in work, we could quite happily have walked out on) - and this is the thanks you get for it, through no fault of your own. I don't think this government cares about the affects on peoples bodies and mental health - they just want to push people into an early grave. Well if thats the case, then why not just legalise Euthansia ? I'm sure there's plenty out there who would love to escape what torture this life offers them.
Regards, Chris.

Hi Everyone,
Really does make you sick. All their idealistic crap they have been spouting for 25 years rather than, seriously addressing things economically speaking. Always said packing things in boxes and serving cups of coffee wont give people a decent standard of living .I said that in 1993 i am not kidding. And i didnt study econmics. If someone as dim as me knew that back then; then wth have all these so called 'highly educated individuals' been doing. They've had eveyone working like headless chickens for pea nuts and its like a major distraction. Dont worry about the boats costing us a mere 7m a week, look over here sheep; the sick and disabled, the curtain twitchers. Its all because of us the uk economy isnt working. Nothing to do with the pile of crap jobs they have allowed to be created through vast amounts of cheap labour over the past deacdes. Employers have had their day in the sun and niow the whole of the uk is coming to a financial standstill. Their answer; get EVERYONE working for nothiong, but this time ... from home. This includes us, the sick, disabled etc. Intersting stuff here:

Hi Chris,
Know what you mean. Been there and doe that so many times with my CV and gave up a long time ago now. But hoop jumping which looks like could be on the cards for many of us should these nice people at DWP get their way, will umtimately lead to disaster for the state as well as employers. No one in their right mind will be looking to hire long term unemployed, sick, disabled or not, unless of course, they are being supplied free. Of which i think some have a history doing that with was it called, New deal. New deal my backside. Everthings just the same many years on. These idiots just cant accept the fact that people who are physically/mentally unwell etc, are not in the best position to be thinking about either being retrained or looking for any work at all, and neither; will employers be looking for them.No matter what tax advatantage is being thrown at them. Stay strong and give them hell. We all need to fight this somehow, and i'd say contact MPs with emails and letters. I know its probably a complete waste of time but might make us feel better. Dont forget to buy a bike. The Deliveroo jobs are plenty and their hiring. Seriously havent a clue ...have they.

It truly is soul-destroying! I try very hard to stay positive and not make comparisons but it's so difficult when you hear the colossol figures being paid out for other issues such as the migrant issue. When they tell you £500 million (plus the £8 million per day for housing migrants in hotes) is being paid to France from the UK over the next 3 years you have to wonder how they are getting that money and who from - no prizes for guessing!!
Worrying times but I hope people power wins through in the end!
All the best everyone!
