I have no faith in the Labour Party helping us in AN way, especially under #SirKidStarver, who is a keen advocate of anything Blair.

Considering it was HIS Party who started the War on the disabled in the first place, all I expect, with a change in government, is more of the same!

As a disabled Widow, living alone, I already struggle just to exist, so any change in my finances will make it easier for me to die earlier than ever before.

But that's what both Parties are aiming for!

The more of us who give up, the more money they save on the Pensions Bill - & the more money will be siphoned off into their offshore accounts.

I just turned 62, & still have another 5 years before I can claim a Pension - that's if they keep paying Pensions by then, of course!

I'm so ANGRY that nothing is being done by an all-Party alliance, to protect all of us who are so vulnerable! 😡

As someone 99% bedbound, with constant pain & exhaustion, along with chronic brain fog, I wonder what they'll recommend for me to retrain as?

Probably a Mattress Tester, as that's all I'd be capable of! 🦉

So true labour wont be any better and they are certainly not the best of a bad bunch. Blair brought in the WCA as far as Im aware and also the spare room tax was a labour idea along with university fees under lib/labour. They are all out for themselves and i think voting independents if you vote is the only hope. The trouble is unless in our position no one thinks it will ever happen to them and mps have plenty of resources for private healthcare etc.

Hi,

For me, and I've tried voting Green Party and Independent in the past (depending on my candidates values) - there seems to be little hope of them ever getting in, hence why I tend to vote for a party that does stand a chance, so that I feel my vote is counted in a way. If tories won by just the odd vote, then I'd be absolutely gutted that I didn't go for Labour, but that's just my views. So many different voices to be heard, with so many important views.

Chris.

I truly feel for you everyone out there who suffers on a daily basis. as I fear, this next year at least, will be a very long and traumatic road ahead.

The problem is, this Government doesn't care about people with disabilities so they don't even attempt to understand the struggles that people have physically and mentally.

These last few months have been the worst ever in regard to the contempt & pure lack of empathy the DWP have shown to people who need to claim benefits or 'hand-outs' as they like to call them.

To quote Mel Stride (DWP Minister) today
"Britons who are “too readily” diagnosed as suffering from mental health conditions are driving a rise in benefit claims, the Work and Pensions Secretary has said. Mel Stride said “labelling” by society and the socialisation of mental health issues had contributed to a surge in welfare payments"

By the way, this is less than a month after they issued a 'Five Year Plan on Suicide Prevention'!!

These cynical & dangerous comments are just typical of a man who is cluelss to the damage he's doing!

Unfortunately, I don't believe the next Government will do any better but, on a good note, I don't believe by this time next year they couldn't do any worse.

Good luck everyone! In solidarity we go on!

Starmer wanted to reduce the amount of benefit fraud (accidental) to any amount before there was a minimum of £20k.
WITH a 10-year prison term.

Both parties don't seem to see the rise of the number of people on long-term sickness broadly matches that of the rise in waiting lists.
Pretty obvious I would have thought, then long-covid.

Benefit fraud is around £1.2bn
overpayments accidental by DWP is £1.4bn
Benefits UNCLAIMED £16bn
Tax avoided and uncollected £120bn

Who do they go after?
