Hi Jox

I'm very sorry to hear of your predicament.

ESA is paid in arrears so I would expect you to receive a payment up to the date of the decision. I can only suggest that you get a medical certificate from your GP and send in a GL/24 appeal form, stating that you wish to be paid at the assessment rate pending appeal.

I know it won't be easy dealing with two appeals at once, but it does look like both decisions need to be challenged.

Good luck

Derek

when you say medical certificate do you mean sicknote?

Things have now just gone from bad to worse this has turned my world up side down, i had to take out a loan when my dla was stoped to help my get bt untill my dla appeal was sorted, my housing benifit only covers part of my rent, £65 is not enough to cover my bills and food let alone anything else, i dont think i can take this much longer i dont know what i am going to do, i simply dont have the money to pay my bills anymore, the biggest help for my is my car i cant get around without it im totaly devastated now i can not belive this its not fair i have lost all faith in everything i dont know what to do :(

Yes, you need to get a sicknote (from the date of the decision) and send in a GL/24 form to receive ESA at assessment rate during your appeal.

It depends on your GP. He or she can give you sicknotes valid for several months, but you have to send in new ones when they expire.
