I still have 10 days to appeal against my WRAG decision but I am on Income Based WRAG so I guess I have less urgency than some. But still trying to ponder what to do. I went through an appeal once on IB that was quite stressful due to the fact they sent me all my previous ATOS reports (I requested them all so I could show the DM how I had passed previous ones) and I got so angry with the doctors comments. At that point I was naive to it all and had no idea they watched every move from the second I was in sight of the doctor. I used to dress as smart as possible and wash as much as possible when seeing the doctor, I had no idea that was working against me. Neither did I know being in the waiting room was being observed too. Not sure if all this has changed, but that is how it was. Sorry, gone off on a tangent here.

After reading documents on this, am I right to think a "ESA85A" form will tell me my prognosis if I was put in the WRAG from IB without a ATOS medical ? Am I within my right to ask for this form without anything negative happening ?

Hi B,
You are correct, it is an ESA85A that you request if you have not had a face to face assessment.
You are perfectly within your rights to request said report, many claimants do.
With regards to appealing, you do not have to wait to receive your ESA85A, before appealing using GL24 form.
You can simply state why you feel that you meet the support group criteria on your initial submission, and then forward any further evidence or arguments on later.
You would automatically receive a reconsideration by a different DM, this itself can take upto 12 weeks, before being sent forward to appeal if the decision is not changed.
See info on appealing, and GL24 on this post. :

With regards to the face to face assessment, things are much the same.
I would say that your actual assessment takes into account all that occurs from when you leave home until you return.
