Phone call from CAB

In my first post I stated that the CAB would not help me, now out of the blue I have just received a phonecall from a woman at the local CAB asking me how I was getting on!
Her boss, the one who had said they could not help, asked this woman to phone me on Dec 7th to offer help once I had received a tribunal date.
They are also offering to come with me!
I know to some this might sound fantastic news but I just feel really awful!
Do you think I should take them up on their offer, or go it alone? Opinion, rather than advice, as I know you cannot advise on individual cases.
Many thanks,
Rachel

I am close to tears, as part of my depression/anxiety I do not cope with change well.

Hi,
To be honest, any good help and support is better than none.
Would it be possible to arrange a meeting with the person prior to the appeal, both in order you maybe more 'comfirtable' with the advisor having previously met and also to form a way ahead for the appeal?

I do admit I have deep seated prejudices and I apologise most sincerely to anybody who this offends!....
the people who work at my local CAB are wealthy women of a certain age.
I do not doubt their integrity, selflessness or intelligence, I guess it is more of an inferiority complex on my part?!
But Pete I will meet with her and see how she makes me feel, cos as you said, any good help is better than none.
Many thanks,
Rachel

I'm not saying feel sorry for them, I'm just saying try to find a connection with them because I don't think many stick it for more than a short while unless they are committed to what they are doing.

It's incredibly difficult to rid oneself of the 'I am a failure' persona!
Best wishes,

I know it well. I think it often goes with depression, or at least it does with mine and that of so many people I know.
