The United Nations has begun its investigation into the effects of welfare reform in the UK by visiting Scotland. A team of UN investigators will spend two weeks in the UK collecting evidence from individuals and organisations.{jcomments on}
The investigators will also visit London, Bristol, Manchester and locations in Wales and Northern Ireland.
They will be looking at whether disabled people’s human rights have been violated by such things as benefits cuts, sanctions, legal aid cuts, hate crimes and cuts to social care.
