A petition on 38 degrees asking for Atos to be fined when it misses targets has already received over 20,000 signatures.
The petition text:
Dear Ian Duncan Smith, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions,
Britain needs a sickness benefit system that’s fair and treats people with dignity and respect. ATOS is failing to provide this.
Please make sure the government fines Atos properly when it misses its targets or makes serious mistakes, causing huge numbers of people hardship and distress.
The tests aren’t working. Make them fairer, especially for people whose symptoms change over time.
