The Guardian has a live blog about today’​s debate of the Welfare Reform Bill in the House of Lords. The Bill has reached a critical stage in its progress through parliament. The Lords will today be debating the time limiting of contributory employment and support allowance (ESA) to 12 months;​ whether disabled children should have automatic entitlement to ESA when they are adults;​ and the abolition of the social fund.

Comments already on the blog include a link to the Daily Mail where David Cameron’​s Welfare Reform Bill is likened to the Milk Snatcher moment of Margaret Thatcher. Other comments relate to anxieties and worries of people facing the prospect of losing their home for example, and the loss of respect and dignity disabled people will feel if the reforms go ahead.
