A housing association has sent letters to over 600 of its tenants who have been identified as potentially having grounds to appeal against the government's controversial bedroom tax.{jcomments on}

Coast & Country Housing has seen almost 1,500 of its households affected by the under-occupancy penalty, with the policy generally hitting some of its most vulnerable residents, including those with disabilities or carers.

However, recent tribunal successes, many based on room size or use of room, have encouraged the social landlord's Tenant’s Working Together Group to share knowledge and assist fellow tenants in lodging an appeal.
