Chris Grayling, minister for employment, has confirmed in a letter to a member’s MP that claimants can ask to have their DLA medical recorded in the same way that they can ask to have their ESA medical recorded. However, this only applies to medicals carried out at a medical examination centre, not to ones that take place in the claimant’s home.

In the letter, Grayling also confirmed that claimants could have their medical rescheduled if the recording equipment was not available on the proposed date of their medical, provided they had made the request for a recording in advance.

Finally, Grayling stated that no decision had yet been made regarding the recording of PIP medicals.

You can download a copy of the letter to Chris Ruane MP from the DLA medicals section of the members area in case your local medical examination centre denies that recordings are available for DLA medicals.
