Right To Control was created by banito
Hi

I've been put into contact with guys from Right To Control, idea is the ill person has the right to control their lives. They give a long questionnaire, and say they communicate with DWP..
They ask questions like would you like to work, and also about what problems you have..
The form has some questions similar to DLA.

I'm wondering what the risks are, can things affect benefits if they evaluate the questionnaire a certain way.

Would they move me from ESA to JSA if they decided I was ready to work?

Hi banito, welcome to the forum.

Can I ask who Right To Control is or can you give a link to the website?

Hi banito

I think it's a local service run by the local council, offering help and support with housing and employment for people with disabilities. The questions on the forms that you say are similar to DLA are probably to assess your disability. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with the DWP or any connection with your benefit claim.

As a matter of interest, who put you in contact with Right To Control. (I hope not the DWP?).

Regards

Derek

no, my social worker did. But the right to control people said they are in contact with the DWP, and they ask me about whether I would like to work or be able to work. And they stress that it's only if i'd feel comfortable doing so. But I don't like the idea of this unknown communication with the DWP.

It's possible they may be able to help like helping with housing, though the future doesn't look bright with housing with the new system. I don't know whether it's more of an asset or a liability, and if deciding not to have them after having them, is a problem, I don't know.

Banito,

Personally I would not disclose any information to any one but the DWP, if and when they requested it.

Unless you can see an absolute benefit to it.

Of course it is your descision, just be aware, that things are not always what they seem to be.
