chronic condition - but third ESA medical

I suffer from a chronic lung condition which I have had since early childhood. So far I have been put in the support group by a sympathetic tribunal, before being reassessed after a year and being put in the WRAG. I have been recalled after six months and am about to complete yet another application form.

I have provided all the medical evidence I have, including specialist consultants' reports. As my condition is unchanging, any advice on how I can increase my chances of having my benefit continued without undergoing another stressful medical and possibly a tribunal too. I have tried to explain my uncommon condition as best I can but the decision makers don't seem to get it.

Keep up the good work!

Hi Jane

There isn't much I could say that's not in the detailed ESA guides. For some reason the DWP do not seem to understand the word 'unchanged' no matter how often it is used.

Perhaps if your GP or specialist consultant indicated that your condition is unchanged and unlikely to improve in the near future, assuming that is the case, it may add extra weight.

Good luck

I would get your GP or Consultant to write a letter stating that you have a long term condition and that in his expert opinion this is unlikely to improve in the medium to long term.

It does seem to me that there is a great deal of waste in the system. Also getting your MP involved may help as a friend of mine also was due to be reveiwed after 6 months, and we managed to get that reveiw period increased to 12 months - it is always worht a shot.

Also I would write to Darra Singh the Chief Exec of JobCentre+ the more these guys know about the waste in the system the better.

Good luck with it all.

Chris

Would anyone have an email address for Darra Singh. I will copy him into my complaint regarding the Atos medical?

:) Without going into your medical problem as this is not the place for your problem most problems these days have a way of being put in a catogery whith the information that ties it into that .. if you have a clear diag then with a copy of this report at your next tribunal or even supplied to the dwp you have a good chance of arguing your case to the extent that there will be no change

I only found out about this a few weeks ago I have started telephoning my drs and asking for an up to date report with the info in the medical report so I can then print off the item and add it to my collection for moving to esa from IB

I did it the other day for a mate with head injury his last drs report had the detail on so went and printed off the eveidance for him

he has Personality and behavioural disorders due to brain disease, damage and dysfunction

which is ICD F07
so he adds a page with FO7

apps.who.int/classifications/apps/icd/ic...nline/?gf00.htm+f067

there is not much info in his case but in many threre is much more

one of mine runs to two pages :)

if the WHO ICD is in your report it helps my drs all said they would do new report
