EMP Report (DLA)

Hi,

I had a medical examination by an ATOS EMP in 2008 and my application for DLA was refused.

I have just had another with an ATOS EMP, can anyone tell me if the DWP retain copies of the former medical I had in 2008, or is that report destroyed after a certain time?

Files are normally destroyed by the DWP within a period not exceeding 18 months in all but a few exceptional circumstances.

It would therefore be unlikely that your original claim file would still exist, but you can always contact the DLA Unit to find out whether it would be possible to retrieve the medical report from 2008?

I may well do that as my recent medical reflects major degeneration compared to the report of 2008 so it would be to my advantage to bring it to their attention I think.
