Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi,
The safest thing to do is report any stay as an in-patient in hospital, regardless of the length of stay as various benefits are affected differently by stays in hospital.

The first night counts as one day if you actually stay in hospital.
As Steve says you should report any overnight stays in hospital,as it could affect your benefit.
When i was working out dates for in patients in hospital or residential care[respite].DLA was stopped after the 28th day in hospital and re-instated as soon as the customer left the hospital.

Thanks Peterjclive
I didn't want to go into too much detail re linking dates in case the system had changed.
However if some-one goes into residential care and they are self funding then the DLA carries on being paid whilst self funding continues.
