should i go for dla? was created by john
i have been on esa for just under a year now and i only won that on appeal !, however i have extremely painful diabetic neuropathy in my feet and legs which has now reached the point where i cannot walk at all now without it hurting, ( its like walking on stone chips barefoot), with all the proposed changes to the law coming in i am frightened to apply for dla in case i lose my esa!, any advice would be greatly appreciated. p.s. i have now been referred to a neurolocical surgeon to see if he can help!

Hi John,

Whilst ESA medical reports are now commonly used as evidence for DLA, it is much less common for it to work the other way round.

This is probably because the majority of medical reports for DLA are written by hand, so not available to a different decision maker with a few clicks of a mouse, as ESA85s are.

But in the end, only you can decide whether it is worth making an application - though from what you say it does sound like you have possible entitlement to an award of DLA.

Good luck,

Steve
