DLA Reconsideration was created by Bill
Hi,

I have read in various places on this site that if you are refused DLA you have the right for reconsideration by the DWP.

I have also read that the Mods advise making an appeal as reconsideration is part of the process.

I am awaiting the result of an application currently and maybe thinking a bit in the negative when I ask, does anyone have experience of a reconsideration being turned in their favour after being refused DLA?

Thanks, in anticpation.

I think that this may get more responses in the Benefits questions forum, so I'm moving it.

your right in what you say, if turned down you can ask for them to look at it before appeal, from what I have read here the ones who do well at review are ones turned down who have read the reasons why its been turned down and when asking for a review are able to point out things to the DLA people that make a big differance light bulb momonets :)

Hello Adrianmidwales,

Thanks for your response. Without trying to be too personal here, can I ask, did you do as Dave suggested above and take note of the reasons you had been refused and then tackle each point?

Or, may I ask, did you come at it from a different angle completely?

Thanks again Adrianmidwales, thanks also to Dave and apologies & thanks to Survivor for my mistake and for rectifying it for me ;)

My daughter was awarded high rate on both mobility and care from 2008. Then when I renewed this year she was awarded nothing on 15 March 2011. And they overturned the decision made in 2008.

I send my appeal against the decision on 12/04/2011, and just waiting.
