If you currently receive dla and have been told you have it indefinitely,What will happen under the new government proposals?
will you be subject to reassessment and yet more stress?

OK the first thing to say is that there really is no such thing as an indefinite award, as the DWP are entitled to re-assess a claimant at any time. The DWP Randon Re-assessment Program picks a number of DLA claimants who are on indefinite awards, for re-assessment every year.

Informtaion on PIP, is still very sketchy, however, the Government has said that there would be a re-assessment of DLA claimants (but not necessarily a medical), as part of the transfer. Not all DLA claimants will be transferred, for example those over the State Retirement age.

My neighbor receives HRM and was awarded 2 yearly awards his claim was due to run out in September this year and he got a letter yesterday saying he had been awarded his DLA indefinite without filling any forms is this usual ?

He is very excited by his letter, he is 57! And is it maybe age related does anyone think?
