Should I drive to my Tribunal? was created by wobbler
I have my ESA Tribunal next Monday and difficult to get someone to drive me.Will it go against me if I drive myself,journey is about 15 mins.I am appealing decision that I should be in suport group due to severe mobility problems. Really nervous,My GP has written supporting letter stating I am unable to work but will this be taken into consideration?

I think my advice would be that if you can avoid driving yourself, you should. What about getting a taxi there and back? Many areas have a volunteer taxi system where you just pay for the mileage.
Driving touches on quite a number of the ESA tests, not just mobility; sitting, raising your arms, concentration, initiating and completing tasks, going to a strange or unknown area, and there are others.
If you do drive, think about how you would answer the question of how you got there. For example, I drive, but I am now in consderable pain, I delayed taking my pain killers till after I arrived, etc.

If someone drives you how will you get from the car to the center ? how do you normally get in and out a car ?

I am hoping there is a disabled bay in the center car park but I have great difficulty getting out of the car at present as well as driving due to pain in my knees so perhaps it would be worthwhile getting a taxi as Gordon has kindly suggested.

If you have a Motability car which you drive yourself, does that mean you have failed the assesment test before you even get there.

You don't automatically fail an ESA assessment just because you can drive, but you will find it more difficult to get enough points.
Obviously, you must be honest about your abilities when you go to a tribunal, but it is easy to push yourself harder than usual to do something on the day of the tribunal that will knock you out for ages and for inferences to be drawn about it that you don't realise and therefore can't offer your explanation in response to them.
