Hi Chris_63 and all,

Just an update to this. Having sent my new ESA 50 form back in late May, I have had a letter from the DWP advising me that I continue to be in the Support Group.

At least I think that's what the letter is: it's not the clearest thing I've ever read, and doesn't say anything like 'Following your recent reassessment' or 'following receipt of your form'.... It's also backdated to mid April, which is odd, so for a while I thought maybe it was just the standard new tax year/benefit rates have changed letter. But it does talk about my right to appeal if I disagree, and came with the little appeals info leaflet. Too exhausted to phone them up to confirm it, and the person who helps me with phone calls/admin stuff is away, but I think I've concluded that it must be the decision letter :)

I didn't have to have another medical.

Has your friend heard anything yet Chris?

regards
Rainbowlight.

Hi there Rainbowlight

We submitted his ESA50 just 2 weeks ago so hopefully we will hear something pretty soon. We were able to get additional medical evidence as in some respects his condition has deteriorated, and with a change of medication is somewhat unstable.

Hopefully he will stay as he is also without a medical. On your letter did it state a proposed future review date?

Thanks for your interest and I will keep everyone up to date.

Cheers

Chris

Hi Chris

No, there is no mention of a review date on the letter.

The letter is actually very unclear. I was prepared to put my confusion down to brain fog and cognitive fuzziness, but I think it really is the letter. One really has to guess what it is related to based on the eventual mention of the word 'decision', which doesn't appear until halfway down page 2.

I will keep my fingers crossed for your friend.

It will be interesting to hear what Darra Singh has to say about review dates when he gets back to you.

regards
Rainbowlight
