DLA

hi i'm a newbie , so sorry if i am in the wrong place etc. if you lose your IB do you also lose your DLA . advice please . very concerned

Losing your IB doesn't mean automatically losing your DLA, but the DWP can use information it obtains in the process of assessing your entitlement to ESA to reconsider your entitlement to DLA.

For example, let us suppose that you get DLA(HRM) and when you are assessed for ESA, the Atos HCP determines that you can walk five miles without difficulty or discomfort, a Decision Maker could then review your HRM and using that advice from Atos as to your walking, determine that you should no longer be getting HRM.

However, the criteria for ESA and DLA only overlap in some places, so for the most part the conclusions drawn by an Atos HCP when assessing you for ESA won't be relevant to DLA.
