put in WRAG but Dr says unfit for ANY type of work was created by kmr
Hi,
i have recieved the outcome of my medical/ wfra, the DWP have decided to put me in a WRAG even though the ATOS Dr said that i was unfit for ANY type of work and that i had to have a home visit because i find it imposible to get to places that i am familar with even when accompained. The DWP have now sent me an interview to go to!!!. I havent been outside my frontdoor for over 8mths!!( which they are well aware of).
I am desperately trying to overcome my fear and anxiety but i feel they are exspecting too much from me too soon.
I would like to see the reports from the DR and the DM do you think i should appeal??

My view would be obtain a copy of the reports, and seek an appointyment with an advice worker, perhaps from the CAB, to go through the paperwork, and the criteria and see if there is a good prospect of appeal. In youyr circumstances, it may be possible to obtain a home visit from an advice worker depending on local arrangements, or to combine telkephone and post to get the advice and help you need.

Members of the WRAG are not expected to work or even to seek work, although you will be expected to prepare for work, by carrying out some work related activities.
In order to be eligible for the Support Group, you must be able to demonstrate that you meet one or more of the criteria, These are listed on page 25 of the Understanding ESA guide (October 2010).
If you feel you do qualify for the Support Group, then you can either ask for a Reconsideration (turnover rate is about 10%), or lodge an appeal (turnover rate 40%), in which case the first thing thing they will do is a Reconsideration.
If you do intend to lodge an appeal, then I would recommend you seek face to face advice as a Tribunal can re-evaluate your whole claim, and whilst it is rare, this can result in you losing your existing WRAG status.
With regard to the Work Focussed Interview that you have been given, attendance is mandatory, however, you may be able get it deferred, failing that it is sometimes possible for it to be held over the phone.
Hope this explains it.

Hi, Gordon. wasn`t aware of that. I thought WRAG meant you were obliged to seek work.

If you've been reading anything in the media about welfare reform based on government press releases, that would be a natural conclusion to draw. The statement that people in the WRAG are fit for work with a little help has been plastered all round the UK media.
