Hi Blindeye,
I had the same problem, all sorted now, had a home visit medical, i am in WRAG now.
If i was you i would make a new claim for ESA, if i considered myself not fit for work, which is a legal requirement to JSA.
AS others have said if you did not attend a medical without good cause the ESA stop your benefit ( the personal allowance bit), but from what i can make out what you are saying you informed them that you could not attend so they should send you a new appoinment asp. DO you have any help from the Mental Health team??I have a community mental health nurse visit me once a week and can call them at any time for support and help, which has been a god send to me they helped arrange a home medical and deal with the ESA for me.

If you have limited capability for work, you can still claim JSA if you can show that you have a reasonable prospect of employment.

You can claim JSA if you are treated as not having limited capability for work but are disqualified from receiving ESA (e.g. because of misconduct.

You can place restrictions on the number of hours you can work and the nature of the work because of illness or disability.

“If you have limited capability for work, you can still claim JSA if you can show that you have a reasonable prospect of employment.”

I have thought seriously about what type of work I could be capable of doing – and the only thing I can come up with due to my disability is home – based work (work that I can do from home from my PC or telephone)

Would this be seen as a realistic prospect/attempt at gaining employment – or would this be considered too limited to claim JSA.
