Consultant asked for Report was created by Bunny
Hi Everyone
I'm on HRC and HRM for DLA and had to complete a new form for a review last month. My consultant promised me faithfully he would send me a letter of support for my claim but it never arrived, I even delayed sending my form in by a week as I was assured it would be sent and I wanted to send it all in together but it still didn't come.
I'd told the DWP I was waiting for his letter and also written the same on the form. Anyway the letter took another 3 weeks to arrive during which time the DWP gave up waiting and have written to my consultant now asking for a report. He has now sent me the original letter to send them and added to it that he will forward a report in 'due course'.
My problem is he doesn't seem to have any idea what to write in the report (I know this as he also had no idea what to write in the letter) and I'm obviously concerned about him writing the wrong thing, he hasn't contacted me about it and when I tried to get to speak to him I can't get even a phone appointment until the end of May as he is so busy. So now it's stressing me out wondering if he is just going to write a report based on who knows what because he hasn't actually spoken to me re my DLA, or what it will mean for my claim if I can't get to speak to him until the end of May and he doesn't send a report until then.
I'm now not sure what to do or what I can do. When I knew they wanted a report I intended to get an appointment with him as soon as possible to go through it all but can't get that now for over two months and I can't even get to speak to him just to ask him to speak to me first or at least send me a copy first.
The DWP have always just accepted letters of support before so I'm sure they wouldn't be asking for a report at all had the letter actually been sent in time.
Any suggestions what I can do to get around the two month wait? I could write I guess but am not sure what I should be saying exactly. Do the DWP have any kind of time limit as to how long they will wait for reports back from people's doctors?
Many thanks
Bunny

hi Bunny
phone him up. he should be ok about that and explain to him or her what you need and ask if you can collect it to save time.
