My ICB/ESA additional Benefit is £112 per month, I am due a review of this in Jan 2012
which is 1 month before my 59th B'day and I am not due a WPUMSUPP review till 2017 1 year before my 65th B'day. I spoke to an old service friend a week or so ago and he said it may be better to stop the ICB/ESA benefit before they review you as it may lead to trouble with the WP UMSUP. I also get DLA at the lower rate. My WP is 70%, 60% for injuries (non combat) I received during my time in the forces and 10% for PTSD (combatal), I also receive WPMS for life. If I stopped the ICB/ESA benefit voluntarily would it set alarm bells ringing in the WP? Any advice would be welcome

None of the other moderators are able to offer any advice on WP and associated benefits, but there may be other members who are either in receipt of WP or who have experience in dealing with the administration of the pension, who may be able to assist with your enquiry?

As I have stated previously on this Forum I am one of the few who receive a WP UMSUPP benefit and ICP/ESA Benefit (additional pension) from the days of IVB.

I contacted them about this type of thing the reason your WPUMsupp is up for review it is not to see if your health has changed is because you have the right at that age to choose if you carry on getting unsupp or stop and start claiming old age pension
old age pension and unsupp are overlapping benefits for which you have a right to both but they only pay one
allowances are not the same as your war pension
over the years as my children have got older my pension has been reviewed but only in so far as the children have got older allowances have dropped off not the pension .... your war pension itself can only be reviewed
1. if some one tells them you are a cheat (like any benefit)
2. you tell them you think that you are better
3. if you tell them you are getting worse.
then they might review it.
they and the legion and war pension visitors (not sure of real name) will do the sums and tell you which is best for you
