First time posting for me. I had a recent diagnoses of degenerative disc disease which was ignored by DWP and ATOS, of course I scored 0 points on the assessment. Due to the DDD my career as a nurse is virtually over. I have made several applications to return to work (I worked in care homes)I am getting nowhere. I had one interview and they turned me down because of the back problem!!! According to the report which I requested and got this morning I can return to work in 3 months with, as it states on the report, an impairment of the spine !
The pain is constant - they said infrequent. It also states that Tramadol is a moderate painkiller !!!
I have appealed, time to get my professional nurses head on and pick this medical assessment apart!!
Cheers !

Tramadol is moderate pain killer. if the pain is constant then ask for DF118. but you know that.
the problem with DDD is when first presenting and not controled by pain killers
How did they diagnoses DDD ? MRI
if so the problem is if they did a full body scan of everyone on here many will show up a few problems
picking the assement apart wont be hard putting together a case against them might be hard
what would be a big help, have in the past when working have you every had need to fill in the accident book or take time off sick because of something that happened in trying to move a person under your care

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I did take time off sick due to injuring myself when moving a resident, and I have a copy of the accident report. The back problem finished my job off, unfortunately.
Its bad you hurt yourself, but its good its all recorded
