One course of action you can try is
Make an official complaint to both ATOS and also to the DWP. Also contact your local MP and ask for their help/intervention.
Mention that you have contacted your MP in both letters to DWP & ATOS. Send all recorded and signed for.
A letter from your GP outlining your difficulties will be beneficial here too.
There some info on contacting MP's and ATOS here
www.mssociety.org.uk/get_involved/policy...ork/esa_appeals.html
Also see if there is a charity who specialises in your condition and contact them to see if they can offer you help and advice.
Other than that good luck

Hi Tilly
I cant offer any advice on this but i just wanted to offer you some comfort we are all here for you. Do they not think we have enough to deal with without them being so obstructive. I can empathise with you regarding needing a wc close by, do you have to spell out the consequences of not having that facility. How would they feel if they were in your position? Animals are treated better!! I know how upsetting and degrading it is to be incontinant, just for 1 day in their life it would be helpful if they were in our position let them see how it feels. Though i wouldnt wish it on anybody .
I would insist on a home visit, would your dr support this? I wouldnt fancy trying to get across London. Its quite obvious that you do need a home visit.
Good luck!!
Mm

Hi All.
the dreaded home assessment E.S.A medical has been arranged for Friday 9 October Doc(I hope they send a vet) to arrive between 1-1.15pm, he will catch me just after my second lot of meds lucky really because I am not very coherent after the third lot later in the day.
A good time actually I might ask him to prepare a spot of lunch while he is here.
I have carefully considered a witness to the proceedings:-
Local M.P ( LIB- DEM) mmmm unlikely.
Trade Union Rep mmm doubtful.
C.A.B (good organisation) no outreach workers in this area.
D.I.A.L as above.
A Daily Mail reporter mmmmm bad move.
My wife mm she will just have to do.
On a more serious note however,I cannot believe the way A.T.O.S are treating Tilly or are home visits a matter of disorganised stupidity based upon your locality.

Hi Tilly
I would suggest asking your GP to write a letter saying you need a home visit. If your GP can be quite specific about your needs/limitations, then ATOS may agree to a home visit for you.
This was the route I took, on the advice of a benefits office - in fact I sent the GP letter with my ESA50 form - and ATOS agreed without quibble.
Good luck,
Gillian

I had a home visit. I live in the back of beyond, in Mid Wales, and it was never suggested that I should go to a centre. The doctor was polite and pleasant, but she was from Eastern Europe and I don't think we communicated very well. She didn't write down most of what I told her, but wrote copiously her impressions of me including that I "didn't look tired" (ever heard of make up? I wear quite a lot of it specifically so that I won't look tired!) Please don't try to do things that cause you severe discomfort, if you manage to do them that is what the doctor will write, and they won't write that you were uncomfortable or in pain. Also don't do anything to improve your appearance, or tidy up your house, because they will note that too - the applicant's home is clean and neat, so clearly the applicant is well enough to do housework.

Hi All,
three hours and counting down,
E.S.A home assessment approaches been up since 03.30 (nothing unusual) just more on edge than usual, I have nothing to hide and My lack of capability is obvious for all to see.Next spinal op. hopefully now brought forward slightly to between Jan-March 2011, all paper work medical and otherwise to hand and a witness present. So why am I still so b----y WORRIED.
Bricking It
