BENEFITS STOP

My daughter was due to carry on in College this sept but two days before she was due to re-start she had letter come through saying that the course was not being run due to lack of interest - this was after she had been for interview and enrolement!!! so i am still trying to work it out.

My daughter has Aspergers and my worry is that the connexions will now try and get her somewhere else and she only wants to work with horses she has social probs so would struggle with working with lots of people etc.

I gather now I will lose Child Benefit and Tax Credits now she is no longer in college , she is 17.

Do i have to now apply for the dreaded ESA for her?

Help and advice needed please.

If your daughter does not intend to continue her education and feels that she would be unable to work because of her medical condition, in order to receive benefit it would appear that she will need to claim the (dreaded) ESA.

She has appoint at connexions this morning. With my daughters aspergers along with mental health problems and anxiety she would struggle in a normal working environment. Her heart is set on working with horses, the course she was doing was with horses. She has a voluntary job a few hours a week at a local stable and she loves it. My worry is that she is going to be forced into applying for courses, jobs or training that she doesnt wish to do and which she would struggle with.

connections are there to advise not force your daughter into a course she does not want yes tax credits and child benefits will end......... has she not got any DLA ? as she is now is sixteen that would now be in her name and would help her get by for a time
