ESA85 Medical report form. was created by Ranald
I have just been attempting to read my ESA85 (not easy to decipher Doctor's handwriting) and am puzzled about page 40."I advise that a return to work could be considered within" the Doctor had the choice of 3,6,12,18 months, he has ticked none of them.
"I advise that a return to work is unlikely within" The Doctor had the choice between "For at least 2 years" and "In the longer term" He ticked "In the longer term"
Does that mean he does not think i could return to work at all or within more than 2 years?
I received the minimum 15 points so i won't appeal the misquotations present in the form, i would not get into the Support Group anyway i am sure.
Any ideas guys?
Ranald.

Hi Ranald
I didn't know doctors still do hand written reports.
The impression I have is that he does not think you can return to work 'in the longer term' which could mean 'at all', as he declined to say you can be 'considered' for work within two years.
I would presume that if his choice was 'for at least 2 years' or 'in the longer term', 'the longer term' would be longer than 2 years.
It would be nice if he could just write in his own words exactly what he means instead of ticking boxes and answering questions, but I think that report sounds quite positive.

I must say the Doctor was quite nice to me and at the end of the asessment he said i was borderline but he thought i was safe and " that should give me a little more money".
I must have been lucky to get an actual doctor then and not the grumpy "health professional" others complain of being subjected to!
