And my DLA has been refused again after being reconsidered.
I was greeted with a big pile of papers in a brown envelope this morning. Apparently they refused me on the 17th of this month.
It grates me incessantly that they can come to these decisions without even giving me a medical or seeing me, yet my ESA medical I had in May backs everything I said in the DLA form up. I shall try to keep my soapbox away though!
I know this is probably how long is a piece of string question but are the tribunal people likely to write to me quite soon with a date (I know that the date could be months away) or will it usually be a case of them writing to me in a few weeks/months with a date that's reasonably close to the date of the letter?
I'm really poorly today so I'll go and read the members section about appeals hopefully in a few days when I'm well enough to sit comfortably and concentrate on it.
They have to give you at least 14 days notice of the hearing, and they don't normally give much more notice than that. I got exactly 14 days.
They will send you an enquiry form which does have a box to tick if you don't mind shorter notice. Last year the waiting time for appeals was about 3 months. I don't know if that's change since.
Good luck with your appeal, and I hope you are feeling better tomorrow.
