Urgent Please - DLA Assessment at Home was created by lshameed
Hi, My first post on here and looking for some help please. I have a new application in for DLA and for the first time in 6 years I have to have a medical assessment at home (not a full medical). Can anyone please offer any advice please. Its tomorrow and I'm panicking now. Any advice or do's & don'ts appreciated.

It may be an idea to look at the DLA guides in the Members Section as to what questions you are likely to be asked at your assessment.

My advice to you is to cancel the medicalfor tomorrow.Get expert opinion and advice before the doctors assessment. You have to be very well prepared. Firstly go back to information provided in your initial application.See the basis on which you were awarded ie the award criteria eg
i am on high rate mobility criteria is unable to walk 30m without having to stop.Low rate care award criteria unable to prepare a cooked meal despite having indgrients.Study and fully understand awards criteria. Get a copy of Benefits and Work guide from this site and prepare yourself with the correct answers.Read and agree with what the doctor writes before you sign it.You can have a DLA advisor with you during the interview.
Best of Luck
