I have enquired about child tax credits has our paperwork from ESA says Contribution based and income related and we think we should be getting the full amount of CTC because it is income related.
Can any one tell me if this is classed has income based or does it need to say on the paperwork income based.
Does it change from CB to IB after a certain period.
Thanks.

Can I ask if this letter detailing what kind of ESA you are receiving states that you are getting Contribution Based ESA and Income Based ESA?

It says on the last page the payment of e&sa is based on your national insurance contribution records and any additional amount the law says you need to live on. We call this contribution based and income related e&sa

Not sure if it says this on every letter they send out.

Income-based ESA can be added to contribution-based ESA to bring you up to the specified amount of benefit on which the law says you need to live. There should be a page with the ESA award letter, explaining how the calculation of benefit was worked out?

If you receive any amount of ESA(IB), you should receive the maximum amount of Child Tax Credit.
