Exempt or not? was created by c00kered
I just wondered if anyone can tell me how I can find out if I was exempt the last time an IB113 form was filled in for me (I have ms and I am fairly sure this form has been filled in only once). I have asked the doctor and he told me that one was filled in some years ago but he could not tell me what had been put on it because he did not fill it in and there was no record of it because it was over 5 years ago

I wonder if I could request a copy from DWP does anyone know anything at all about what to do-any help would be very much appreciated.Thanks.

Hi,

You can write to the DWP and ask for copies of any decision notices and other documents which detail the grounds on which you have been found to be incapable of work.

Good luck,

Steve

Thanks for your prompt reply Steve.

I have asked for a copy of my IB113 form which will be sent to me probably next week because it is in storage, after looking at the IB113 on this site there does not seem to be anywhere on the form to say whether you are exempt or not - is this considered after the dwp have received it and if so could you please tell me how I would find out. I have found out that the IB113 form was filled in on 17/03/04 and on 05/04/04 on my medical records it say no more medical certificates needed.

Hi,

the IB113 won't say whether you were exempt because that is a decision for the decision maker. You can ask to be sent any documnets relating to the decsion to find you incapable of work and the grounds on which it was made.

good luck,

Steve

Hi

The DWP can be slow at giving this information. I suggest that you send your request registered letter.

Steve do you know what/if the time limit is?

Charlie
