I have sent my form off and I dont feel too positive. Although technically I Should get over 15 point adn I am expecting a medical next. I
Wondering if I should send a letter to my mp in the maantime or wait for the medical. Mind you my MP is not running due to the expenses saga so is just waiting out till the elections. this borough can go either way so maybe I will contact all the parties. Feel the leverage will be better before the election than after.
Is there any push back happening with this so it can be amended. or is it just left to each individual?
thanks
MJ

In my case i believed it was imperative that my history of illness was made known to the DM via my doctor thereby negating the need for a pca
It, i believe, is no coincidece that 2 days after the letter from my MP arrived , it was followed by a letter from the DWP saying that my IB would continue and the next review is in 3 years.
So please WRITE TO YOUR MP you have nothing to lose , best of luck

I ask these Q's because my unchanged medical condition as confirmed by my GP was considered exempt in 2006 now requires a 12 month review.
I have gone from being no doubt unrelistically and childishly relieved when I was awarded IB renewal to gloom at the prospect of a yearly review with the prospect of losing benefit. I seem to be getting better without knowing it. If that were true I would be delighted. Thanks in advance

I have re-read this thread with more care and am humbled by the knowledge of the benefit sytem that the moderators and other posters have. I apologise for my stupidity. At the risk of having it confirmed may I pose a Q? Are there guidelines for ATHOS Drs as to how long a review time to opinion? Also since the review will not have access to any further info, will it automatically trigger a Questionnaire followed by a request for medical info from GP/Consultant and then a possible medical? And lastly does the ATOS Medical Assessment score dictate the review period?

There are indeed guidelines for Atos disability analysts as to how long a review period should be before the next PCA.
In answer to your second question, a PCA review will invariably lead to the issue of an IB50. This is as a result of a change in procedure, since Atos acquired responsibility for the PCA from the DWP in October 2008.
The score obtained from a PCA does not determine the date of review, as the disability analyst will not be aware of the points score recorded by the IB decision maker. The points are alloted taking into account the medical report compiled by the medical assessor.
