RE: Questions about UC Application including how to upload documents for housing

Hi all,

Sorry this is yet another post about my UC migration from ESA. I am sorry there have been so many questions, I'm just paranoid that things aren't going to go smoothly. I do have some more questions if that is OK?

1) I currently receive Contribution Based ESA with IR top up. Will the CB element continue to be paid fortnightly whilst I am waiting for my first UC payment?

2) If I ask for an alternative payment arrangement and get paid fortnightly, is the housing element still paid monthly, or is it split over the fortnightly payments?

3) Whereabouts on my journal do I state about migrating from ESA and not needing fit notes or WCA?

4) Do you have to upload bank statements, if so, how many months worth, or do you just upload the relevant one that shows your ESA and housing benefit going in (in my case, one weeks worth as I will be applying next week when my ESA and HB are paid)?

Once I have filled the application form in, I am going to ask about reasonable adjustments for the ID check and claimant commitment as going into the Jobcentre would cause me to have a panic attack. my question is:

5) Whereabouts on my journal do I ask about reasonable adjustments for providing ID and claimant commitment over the phone?

I now have most of the documents I need scanned for proof of ID, housing and any other general documents. My question is:

6) Where and how do you upload documents for proof of housing costs? Is it done when you fill in the housing section of the UC application or is it a 'to do' task after you have filled UC application in and pressed the submit button?

7) Where and how do you upload proof of ID and any other general documents, such as bank statements and proof of ESA award?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Kuju2

To answer your questions-
1. Simple answer-Yes
2. It depends on the reason for the APA and also there are different rules for Social and Private landlords.
3.The DWP say there is no longer a need to do that.
4. They will tell you if it is necessary and provide a link to upload the statements.
5. You send a Journal Message and choose Message for Work Coach as the recipient.
6. You will be provided with a link in the Housing Costs To Do.
7. You may be able to do the ID check online. You can refuse to attend the Jobcentre for health reasons.

Let me know how you get on.

David
