I applied for New Style ESA on Wed 12 March. This is because (for health reasons) I have recently reduced the number of hours I work to under 16 per week. I received a text from DWP on 12 March saying they will contact me within 14 days. It says I do not need to contact them or make another application, and they've provided a weblink if I want to provide a fit note.
I haven't heard anything yet. 14 days would be 26 March. 14 working days (which it doesn't mention) would be yesterday, 1 April. It is now 21 days.
Is it possible to chase up to check I am not lost in the system?
Also just to check ESA is what I should be applying for - I am working but am unable to work more hours due to disability. I am not able to seek further work.
We cannot tell you what benefits to claim as we do not have all the facts about your personal circumstances, we would advise you to contact your local Welfare Rights Organisation, advicelocal.uk, they will be able to take all your circumstances into consideration when giving you advice.
