Hi I first received pip in June 2019 at the higher rate for both daily living and mobility I was awarded for 5 years and then extended to 2025 and then last year it was extended to may 2026 I do get 4 points in one area of daily living but have not had a review since I claimed, I am worried about my motorbility car which is due in September 2026 and with the new changes coming in, I also have developed further conditions since I claimed but when I have called about a review each time they have extended my award, Do you think this is due to a back log ? And would you know how many times they can keep extending, I know itโs a good thing not to do a review but I am still anxious and worried Any help would be appreciated thank you ๐๐ผ
The extensions are due to the DWP's backlog. There is no limit to how many times they could extend an award, but if there are changes in 2026, one assumes they will have addressed the backlog by then.
Claimants are supposed to inform the DWP if there is a change in their condition, but when the new information won't impact their award most people wait until their next review.
You already have an enhanced award for daily living and mobility. You can write and inform them about any changes (if you want to), and it may trigger an early review. But do you want the stress? As you have an extension until May 2026 - you could easily receive a review form any time from May 2025.
