Hi fibrofred,

I hope you don't mind me asking, but how do you know both CB ESA and PIP ongoing until 2033?

My PIP award states ongoing until 2030, but with CB ESA I just get an update each year.

Thank you

Hi Lulu

if you receive CB ESA and you are in the support group then it is an indefinite benefit until you are next re-assessed, not sure why you get an update each year unless you mean an increase in your award.

Sorry Lulu, there's a misinterpretation from the way I have worded things. I meant I receive two benefits one is CB ESA and the other is PIP.
My PIP award is ongoing until 2033.
CB ESA does not have a time limit so DWP basically decide when to reassess. They don't advise you on your award letter how long it will be until your next assessment but I phoned to ask and was told 2027.
Hope this is helpful.

Hi Gary,

Yes, I meant an increase in my award.

If it is an indefinite award, why do they re-assess and when?

Thank you

Hi Lulu

It is an indefinite award until they re-assess you, we have heard on the forum from members who have heard nothing from DWP in over 10 years.

At your assessment, they could find you fit for work in which case you would lose your award. If you get a copy of your assessors report called an ESA85 it usually has a date for your next assessment.
