UC and ESA payment clash

UC and ESA payment clash was created by Debbie
I have recently migrated from ESA to UC and was told it would be the ending of one benefit and the beginning of a new benefit without any disruption to my payments but that has not been the case. I am now apparently entitled to New style ESA which is deducted from my UC and now means that my payments are coming in in dribs and drabs rather than one monthly payment which is making it extremely difficult to budget, is there anything I can do?

Hi Debbie

This changeover to New Style ESA is supposed to happen but not the payments in dribs and drabs. Have you tried phoning the Citizens Advice Help to Claim phone number which is on page 2 of your Migration letter to see if they can explain what is going on?

Hi Debbie

That is a possibility. But in the future it may not suit your personal circumstances so best try to get some personal advice from organisations like Citizens Advice or Community Money Advice.

Hi just wanted to update you on my situation, I phoned DWP ESA and they have cancelled my claim so the situation is resolved.

Many thanks for listening and your advice
