My PIP was stopped because I could not manage to send in my review in time. Citizens Advice got my PIP re-installed and helped me send in the review.
Then, 2 weeks ago I received a letter from DWP re: My PIP review saying that they would review my claim form in January 2026.
I was relieved because my personal life is in a total mess at moment and at least I would have time to prepare for this review and any potential assessment.
But, early this morning I received a call from DWP who said they were phoning re My PIP review and asked about the fact I no longer take Tegretol for epilepsy, which I don’t. I was asked do you still suffer seizures? I said Yes, I do, but did not like the side effects and the toxic effects of the long time use of these drugs. I said, that I have problems taking any prescriptive meds because of the side-effects and my fear of their prolonged use.
She said you will hear from us within next few days on a desision.
Now, I am angry with myself for my total un-preparedness for this call and know that my PIP will def be stopped. But, I have serious depression, agoraphobia and cannot sleep one night, as wake up throughout night. I suffer horrendous migraines…that really affect my life, more than the epilepsy, but was not asked to describe any of these. Yes, I still have seizures, but no more really, than when I was taking medication. But, my overwhelming issues are fear to go out, socialising and migraine, as well as very depressed and insomnia.
But, these were not even asked about.
I am dreading the letter that I know I will receive in few day withdrawing my PIP.
Thanks,
Katy

Hi Katy

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but don't beat yourself up about it.

By the sound of your post, if you do not get what you are hoping for you have a very good Citizen Advice to help you take it to the next stage if required.
