No, it was agreed by email negotiation.

Hi Cassolotl

As the £2000 was not awarded by a Tribunal there must be full detail provided by the company as to why they are obliged to pay you that precise amount. This is something that the DWP may ask for in the future if your UC claim is reviewed.
By accepting the payment do you agree not to pursue further action in the courts ?

I can certainly provide the email thread between us and the defendant. Yes, the settlement was them paying us off because we had a really good case for disability discrimination against us, basically.

Hi Cassolotl

I expect you have agreed not to take them to court by accepting the payment. You will need to look at all the small print and make sure you keep the emails. I cannot imagine that this payment would be disregarded under the UC regs. Though you would be advised to get a second opinion from a local advice agency.

Hope this helps.

My friend who made the discrimination claim with me has just told me that they think "injury to feelings" is different from "personal injury" anyway, so yeah, odds are not looking great! Alright cool, thank you for your help and for sharing that really useful PDF, I appreciate it. :)
