Hello,
I migrated to to UC online
and in a few weeks, on a specific date, they should tell me the monthly UC amount I am to get, and a few days after that amount date, I should get my first monthly payment.
—
Would anyone recommend or not,
that I put a note in my journal, prior to them calculating my monthly UC,
to say I am migrating from ESA Support Group,
to avoid them making a mistake and asking me to attend work commitment appointments or to provide fit notes, when I should not have to?
—
On B&W news, at the top of this page, under various articles, some people migrate without any issues, but some people on ESA SG are wrongly requested to provide fit notes or to attend work commitments appointments.
As a result some people who leave comments on those B&W news articles, say that before they got their UC amount, to avoid UC making mistakes, they put a note on their journal to say:
- they were migrating from ESA Support Group
- Regulation 19 of the Universal Credit (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2014 determines when a claimant may be considered to have limited capability for work (LCW) or limited capability for work and work-related activity (LCWRA). This regulation applies when a claimant was previously entitled to the support or work-related activity component of old style Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
And they say that regulation applies to them migrating from ESA SG and they should not be expected to provide fit notes or attend work commitments interviews.
PS: some people say that when they did their UC application online, they were not, like I was told online, that we did not have to provide fit notes.
However those people commented that despite being told online during the application they did not have to provide fit notes they were later on asked to provide some.
I am very grateful for any advice.
Many thanks.
Best wishes

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi VIA
There is no harm in putting that message in your Journal. But don't send to the option A Payment instead send it to Message for Work Coach. As it is the Work Coaches who are asking for Fit Notes and for meetings in the Jobcentre.
