Request backdated UC/ LWCA payments was created by Sum
My sis met the criteria for LWCA. Her UC payments changed from Dec 2024. She has been a UC clmt from May 2024 and believed she would be entitled to backdated payments under her LWCA status. We;ve raised questions about backdated payments twice on the journal and not had a reply. I am right in thinking she is entitled to backdated UC paymts at the LWCA rate ? If yes , who do i raise this with ? thanks

Hi Sum
Here is some useful information from the charity Scope-
Backdating LCWRA payments
You must wait 3 months before you can start receiving a LCWRA payment. This is sometimes called a ‘relevant period’.
Payments can be backdated to 3 months after you submit your fit note.
A fit note is a statement from your GP or healthcare professional saying whether you’re fit to work

Hi
Following the example on the Scope link, and inputting relevant dates from sis UC journal it appears that sis is entitled to backdated payment from 14 Oct 24.
how and who should i raise this issue with ? Note that i have already asked the 'backdated allw' question a couple of times in the journal without any response.
Thank u

Hi Sum
When you typed your message who did you choose as the respondent? From the Journal drop down list you should choose A Payment for the destination of your message. It will then be routed to a Case Manager who decides on payments.
Let me know how you get on.
