Good evening. I am new to all this and absolutely losing faith every day since I received my migration letter (15/12/24 with migration date set as 03/03/25)
Claim has begun (with help from adviser from housing association). Job centre coach now says my transitional protection payment element is made separately to main UC amount and they only pay quarterly. Is this true? I can’t find any information … thank you in advance for your time. I have servere mental health issues and I’m terrified. So sorry.

Hi ST98A

I would ask the Housing Association Financial Inclusion officer who has been assisting you to look into this. Obviously another blunder from a Work Coach. Do you have anything in writing for instance on the UC Journal as evidence ?

The work coach is wrong. Transitional Protection forms part of your Universal Credit each month. I would speak to the adviser from the Housing Association and if they can't help contact your local Citizens Advice or other advice agency.

Hi ST98A

Gladioli is correct, TP is part of your UC and is paid monthly. Your FIO will have access to a UC Partnership manager for your area, as David has suggested ask your HA FIO to look into it for you.
