Any new rules regarding selling on vinted, ebay while receiving UC & PIP? was created by Loony
As title.
I am going through the UC renewal process now with interviews on the phone regarding my bank statements for the past 4 months.
They picked up I had sold 2 or 3 items on Vinted and said I would need to declare them as income?? As if I am working???as it was explained to me by the DWP rep.
I am not a trader on either site, just the occasional used item of clothing I no longer want not sold for profit.
What's the truth of this?
Thankyou.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Loony,
I wonder who gave you that advice which is incorrect? Maybe a Work Coach?
You are allowed to sell your personal possessions and you can make as much profit as you like as long as you don't end up with capital over £6000. That is unlikely to happen for most people unless the sold personal possession is a car.
What would be counted as income is profit from items that you bought for the purpose of selling or items you made for the purpose of selling.
PIP is not affected by rules regarding trading.
Hope this helps,
David

Thanks, the last thing I need is the stress of worrying about making mistakes with benefits.
