Housing Benefit and UC Migration

Housing Benefit and UC Migration was created by Gaddy
Hello David,

I have been in receipt of Housing Benefit for a long time, going back to the late 1990's. I am paid every 2 weeks and in advance,so the payment I have just received covers me from 21/10 to 3/11 where as I gather HB is normally paid in arrears.
So, when I get the invite to migrate to UC, will I still receive the extra 2 weeks HB payment designed to help with the 5 week wait for the first UC payment?

Thank you,

Gaddy

Hi Gaddy,

As far as I'm aware everyone on Housing Benefit gets the 2 week run on with UC Managed Migration. But of course if you have received more Housing Benefit than you are entitled to the Local Authority will ask to be repaid. So you really need to contact your Housing Benefit department to find out what may happen.
