If get Enhanced for Daily Living on PIP after managed migration to UC

Hello,

I am wondering if suppose after one has gone through managed migration to UC, they then have their PIP review and their PIP points and award increase especially the Standard daily living goes up to Enhanced Daily Living for PIP.

Am I correct in thinking that the Standard Daily living for PIP entitles one to Severe Disability Premium for ESA and that the Enhanced Daily Living for PIP entitles one to Enhanced Severe Disability Premium for ESA.

If we get either prior before the managed migration to UC we get transitional protection for either premium and we do not lose any money.

However am I correct in thinking that if we get either premium or if the Severe Disability Premium is increased to the enhanced one for ESA after we have migrated to UC, then the increase in premium is not passed on to UC?

Sorry I have difficulties writing and explaining things in a clearer way.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you and best wishes.

Hi Via,

What you are saying is correct.
The reason it is correct in your " after Migration " scenario is that when you have a UC claim, Income based ESA is withdrawn along with all premiums. As you say they are " not passed on to UC ".

i was on standard pip for both elements until 2022 when it was increased to enhanced for both, also in the support group for esa, have been for many years, which is £138.20 which is £90.50 plus £47.70 because i am in the support group, phoned them up twice to check non of my esa was means tested and was told it was not, also told it was the legacy esa, so i don.t really understand the income related part, have been told many times all my benefits are contribution based and do not include an income related element?

Hi freefee

You are correct, you are in receipt of CB ESA and in the support group which is not means tested.

We do not know your circumstances but you may have missed out on additional premiums which are means tested Enhanced disability ans Severe disability premiums.

We would advise you to seek advice from your local Welfare rights Organisation; advicelocal.uk
