My apologies if this is a stupid question: can PIP be claimed with DLA? I thought PIP was meant to replace DLA. Someone who advises me on employment is insisting that I can claim them both together but I don’t think this is true. So far, other people have advised me , while I’m still receiving DLA, not to apply for PIP but to wait until I am migrated by the DWP. I don’t want to contact DWP for advice in case my DLA is stopped, I’m forced to apply for PIP and there’s no guarantee of success. Many thanks.
You have been misinformed. No one receives DLA and PIP. If you wanted to apply for PIP now, you would need to tell the DWP that you want to put in for a change of circumstances because your health has deteriorated - in which case they would tell you to apply for PIP. Otherwise, you can continue on your DLA until such time the DWP tells you they are going to migrate you across.
