Please can anyone advise
I have today spoken to my county's welfare officer and he can't answer my question
The question is
I want to go away in February 2025 I am in receipt of contribution ESA
I understand I can only be out of the country for 28days, so intend to return at 25 day point giving me wriggle room due to time of year, weather and such like
How long before I can go abroad again

Hi tiggs
I am not sure , you remain entitled to payment for the first four weeks, providing you do not intend to be absent for more than 52 weeks and you continue to meet the conditions for an award of ESA, after that, you remain eligible for ESA(CB) and would not have to reclaim on your return.
You can be absent for up to 26 weeks in order to receive medical treatment or to accompany a dependant child for them to receive treatment providing the absence is temporary, you continue to meet the conditions for an award of ESA and the treatment abroad, whether for the claimant or a dependant child, must be by or under the supervision of a person qualified to provide medical treatment, physiotherapy, or similar forms of treatment.

You can always contact ESA and ask, if you do let us know what they say.

It was highlighted in the news not so long ago that you have to inform PIP/ESA about ANY trips abroad.
Perhaps someone more knowledgeable can shed some more light on the matter.
